So what is Data Mining Engineering?

A Master's degree in Data Mining is designed to enable program graduates to work in a wide range of positions in industry and academia. Graduates will be able to integrate into data analysis roles, particularly big data analysis. Today, in large organizations and industry, the ability to analyze this data is a great need. Additionally, graduates will be able to engage in the development and integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in various industries. Graduates will have the opportunity to integrate into academic research, for example, within the framework of continuing studies for a doctoral degree. In almost every field in the market, there is an aspiration to implement machine learning and artificial intelligence tools. Graduates will have the necessary tools and knowledge for these roles, as they will possess relevant knowledge in areas of text analysis, cybersecurity, image processing, and distributed systems using machine learning and AI. Program graduates will be able to integrate into various positions in industry in development, programming, and research roles, and more.

How is the curriculum structured?

All degree students study foundational courses in data mining such as: advanced topics in algorithms, computational learning, data mining, big databases, artificial intelligence, and deep learning.

In addition to the foundational courses, the curriculum offers 4 additional topics: texts and natural languages, methods for detecting cyber attacks, distributed systems, and image processing.

Non-thesis academic track: 12 courses totaling 36 credit hours. Research track with thesis: 8 courses totaling 24 credit hours + 12 credit hours given for conducting research work-thesis. The research work is done under the guidance of faculty members who have great reputation in the fields in which they specialize.

At Lev Campus, studies are concentrated on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings. At Tal Campus, studies are concentrated on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings. This is to enable Master's degree studies alongside work. Those who successfully complete their studies (in any of the tracks) will be awarded a Master of Science degree in Data Mining (MSc).

What can you do upon completing the degree?

Many doors are open in the industry for graduates of the Master's degree in Data Mining in senior positions such as algorithm development, senior developer, or researcher. Additionally, the studies provide valuable and essential skills for anyone who wants to work and develop in the digital world.
