Due to an increase in life expectancy and rapid technological development,there is a growing need for multi-disciplinary medical care. Many patients suffer from several medical problems, requiring complex treatment across different medical specialties, including cardiovascular, neurological, epidemiological, pulmonological and endocrine care. Usually acute care treatment of chronic diseases is provided in Internal Medicine units or by community clinics. Treatment of these patients requires a wide range of clinical knowledge and skills, where clinical decisionmaking ls based on medical and nursing knowledge as well taking into consideration the patient’s background and preferences. The goal of a master’s degree in nursing is to expand the student’s knowledge of the nursing and medical sciences. This master's degree offers a firm clinical knowledge base and provides students with the tools required to help solve the challenges they will face as nurses in hospitals and the community. This program includes only coursework and cannot be considered for Nurse Practitioner certification.
